Faculty Partnerships
University Research from the Texas A&M faculty is a fertile area for innovative new ideas and technologies that the Spacecraft Technology Center has successfully mined for a number of projects. In addition, the STC has a close association with the faculty and researchers at the 33 Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) Centers. And, since the STC is part of a Texas State Agency, it can and has collaborated with University researchers all over the Country. Typically, collaborators have found the initiation of new contracts or agreements through TEES to be quick and efficient, and the STC is familiar with the requirements of most of the Government solicitation formats.
Examples of past and present research collaborations include:
- Sensor-based end game positioning and autonomous docking
- Two axis start tracker systems with innovative lost in space algorithms
- High definition camera detection of surface flaws
- Applications of electromagnetic propulsion
- Unit-under-test imaging informatics
- Robotic testbed for proximity maneuvering research
